Thompson Brook & Classroom Philosophies
At Thompson Brook the students and faculty work hard to follow the TBS CARES Principle, our school rules and demonstrate ongoing civic virtue. The TBS classrooms are Responsive Classrooms and focus on improving socializations, achievements and providing high quality instruction. The Thompson Brook (& Avon District) faculty have been trained in the Capturing Kids Hearts philosophy and have worked to implement new practices in the classrooms and buildings across the district.

Mission Statement Our mission is to educate students to achieve their highest level of measurable performance in settings that stimulate the joy of learning. CLASSROOM RULES
On the first day of school we discuss what good behavior is, what unacceptable behavior is and how we should treat one another. Below is a list of the rules for our classroom! I have the right to be safe in this room. This means that no one will hit me, kick me, push me or pinch me. I have the right to be myself in this room. This means that no one will treat me unfairly because I look, sound or act differently. I have the right to learn about myself in this room. This means that I will be free to express my feelings and opinions without being interrupted, punished or made fun of. I have the right to hear and be heard. This means that no one will yell, scream or shout. My opinions and desires will be considered in any plans we make. I have the right to be happy and to be treated with kindess in this room. This means that no one will hurt me, laugh at me, ignore me or hurt my feelings. |
